They use fruit from their own orchard aswell as other locally sourced fruit to produce the finest range of gourmet chutneys, pickles and preserved fruit. TASTE OF PROVENCE Swiss born Phillipe Meyer is a classically trained chef. After living in New Zealand for 8 years was missing the taste of home so created ‘Taste of Provence’. A range of pesto’s, tapenades, potted meats and pates. The products are all natural and free of preservatives, colourings or flavourings. They are a must for any fridge. KAITAIA FIRE Established in 1989 Kaitaia Fires aim is to provide exceptional quality organically grown chilli based products. All produce is sourced from the Doubtless Bay region from Certified Organic Growers. Currently available at Rare Fare are dried chillies. The original Kaitaia Fire Chilli Pepper Sauce (a must for any bloody mary) and the Kiwifruit based version Waha Wera. PETER GORDON SAUCESWorld renowned London based kiwi born chef Peter Gordon launched is own range of his favourite relishes, chutneys and dressings in March 2006. The flavours are out standing and with interesting names like chunky, famous, fiery, moorish and sunny they make ideal gifts or a perfect treat for yourself. FOUNDATION FOODSFoundation Foods began in 1995 and specialise in producing a range of stocks and glazes. The stocks and glazes are made using trusted recipes and are free from preservatives, additives and in most cases gluten. Only the finest ingredients are used. Indofusion is a creative blend of Indian inspired chatnis that can be used on anything from Akaroa Salmon to Cheeseboards a Curry or even a basting for Sweetbriar Merino Lamb before roasting. Indofusion is an exciting range made from local ingredients, exotic fruit and fragrant spices. SHIRLEYS KITCHENShirley’s Kitchen produces a range of top quality hand made products. The most popular and recent addition to the range is a fig and walnut log. A perfect match with blue cheese or you can even roll it into balls and dip in chocolate for an after dinner treat. A CRACKER OF A NUTBased at West Melton is Cracker of a Nut. With 17 acres of Walnut Trees they specialise in fresh walnuts and walnut based products from cold pressed walnut oil to delicious walnut paste.
