AKAROA SALMON
Akaroa Salmon was founded in 1984 by Akaroa farmer Tom Bates. A site at Lucas bay was selected for its deep water, current movement and shelter. In the beginning their was a lot of trial and error but from this Akaroa Salmon learned their secrets. And while many salmon company’s went out of business or were sold to overseas investors Akaroa Salmon survived and to this day is still in its original ownership and 100% New Zealand owned.
Akaroa Salmon pride themselves on supplying the freshest and highest quality salmon. They pack and produce fresh and smoked salmon at their factory. Akaroa Salmon is an exclusive brand and is not available in any supermarkets. They supply many of New Zealand top Chefs.
