As much as the internet is a great place to find out about these products, we encourage you to come down and meet our team. Unfortunately, you cant smell and taste things on our website, we cant give you face to face advice on cooking, ingredients and recipes.

Rare Fare is located just behind the Mobil Service Station on Main North Road, Papanui, Christchurch, New Zealand. This is just next to Northlands Mall.
The Rare Fare Concept
The concept for Rare Fare came about when a group of friends saw a gap in the market for a store where people who love to cook and entertain and appreciate great food and wine could purchase exceptional quality New Zealand made products.
Products that are unavailable in mainstream supermarkets and have been created by the small producers of New Zealand.
The result of that idea is a one stop shop where you can find top quality protein items such as Akaroa Salmon, Merino Lamb and Mountain River Venison with a range of condiments and a wide selection of New Zealand and offshore wines, beers and spirits to complement these items.
The majority of our products are as the name suggests Rare and have all been selected based on their exceptional taste and quality, with some items only available at Rare Fare.
Rare Fare has a relaxed atmosphere where hours can be spent searching the shelves for new and exciting products and with an Experienced Chef, Liquor Expert and Weekly Recipes on hand your journey to Rare Fare is always memorable.
